Abstract

1,236,326. Loaders. GENERAL MOTORS CORP. 23 Oct., 1969 [24 Oct., 1968], No. 52087/69. Heading E1F. The scoop of a front end loader is tilted about a lift arm by a double-acting hydraulic jack 25 controlled by a valve 30 which is released from an open position when the scoop reaches the desired position by a device 96 being actuated by a cam 92 or 93 movable in a housing 72 on the jack and connected by a flexible cable 82 to the piston of the jack. Ball 48 engaging groove 46 in the valve spool holds the valve in position R. Device 96 is a microswitch connected to solenoid valve 106 controlling the flow of compressed air to actuator 110 which is operable to engage manual control lever 54 to release the valve from position R. Cams 93 and 92, which are adjustably mounted on the cable or on a rod connected thereto, respectively determine the "roll-back" and "dig" positions of the scoop. Lever 54 is manually held in the dump position D.
