Abstract

1,236,084. Tyre inflation plant. KISMET Ltd. 18 April, 1969 [19 April, 1968], No. 18648/68. Heading A4T. A device for automatically inflating or deflating- a vehicle tyre includes an inflation valve, a test valve and an exhaust valve, arranged so that if the pressure in the tyre does not exceed that required by a predetermined amount, then the inflation and test valves operate to alternately connect the tyre to a pressure supply and to a pressure gauge until the required value is exceeded by the amount, when the test and exhaust valves operate repeatedly and alternately until the pressure decreases to the required value. Pressure-operated switch means are provided between the test valve and the connection to the tyre for automatically initiating operations when the pressure of a tyre connected to the device exceeds a certain value, e.g. 5 p.s.i., a manually operated switch being provided for use when it does not. The alternations may be provided by electrical means providing intermittent electrical pulses to a relay.
