1,235,949. Laminated conveyer belt. BRIDGESTONE TIRE K.K. 31 March, 1969 [10 April, 1968; 11 April, 1968], No. 16849/69. Heading B5N. A heat resistant conveyer belt comprises outer rubber plies 1 and 2, a core ply 3 which may also be rubber, and a pair of longitudinal tension members consisting of steel cords 4 embedded along opposite longitudinal side portions of the core ply with a spacing of usually not less than about a third of the width of the belt between the tension members along the central portion of the belt. Each steel cord may be a stranded steel wire of 2-15 mm. dia. One or both of the outer plies 1, 2 may contain a lateral reinforcing member extending the width of the belt and consisting of cords 5 or canvas made of natural or synthetic fibres such as glass, cotton, polyvinyl alcohol, polyester or rayon.
