Abstract

1,233,846. Valves; fluid pressure brakes. CLAYTON DEWANORE CO. Ltd. 19 March, 1970 [12 May, 1969], No. 24084/69. Headings F2E, F2F and F2V. A protection valve for use in a vehicle dual circuit braking system has two check valves 1, 1a and a piston 3 biased by springs 4, 4a to a central position. On loss of pressure from one of the circuits connected to outlets 8, 8a the piston will move under differential pressure to hold the check valve in the relevant circuit closed. In use a pump (10) is connected via an accumulator (12) and a low pressure switch (13) to the inlet union 2 and each outlet is connected via an accumulator (14), (14a) and a low pressure switch (15), (15a) to a dual circuit pedaloperated valve (16) having its outlet connected respectively to the front and rear brake cylinders.
