Abstract
1,233,733. Dynamo-electric machines. MOSKOVSKY INSTITUT INZHENEROV ZHELEZODOROZHNOGO TRANSPORTA. 22 Aug., 1968, No. 40107/68. Heading H2A. An electric motor has a rotor comprising a symmetrical body of revolution of ferromagnetic material having on one side an A.C. winding connected through rectifying elements to a D.C. winding on the opposite side, the windings co-operating with A.C. and D.C. excited salient pole stators respectively. Coils 3, 4 of salient poles 1, 2 are excited with single-phase A.C. and induce current in windings 6-9 arranged on a hollow ferromagnetic rotor 5. The windings 6-9 are connected through bridge rectifier circuits to D.C. windings 11-14 disposed on the inside of the rotor 5 and confront an inner stator which has salient poles 15-18 with windings 19 -22 energized with D.C.. The inner stator could employ permanent magnets to provide a unidirectional flux. In a modification the windings may be provided on opposite faces of a ferromagnetic disc each spaced from its respective stator winding. The windings may be housed in slots or be applied to the rotor surface as by printing. The speed of the motor may be varied by altering the D.C. current in windings 19-22 or by mechanically rotating the stators relative to one another.
