Abstract

1,233,658. " Squeeze-out carbon papers. ADDRESSOGRAPH MULTIGRAPH CORP. 17 July, 1969 [19 July, 1968], No. 36138/69. Heading D2B. [Also in Division C3] A composition for coating a foundation to form a pressure sensitive marking layer of the squeeze-out type comprises a soft vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer and for every 10 parts of such copolymer 7-15 parts of a non- volatile liquid softener immiscible with the copolymer, e.g. castor oil, 10-40 parts of an agglomerative magnetic pigment e.g. iron oxide of 10-500 millimicron particle size, 0.1-5 parts of a wetting agent of which at least part is an amine type and a volatile solvent, pre- ferably 30-100 parts of a mixture of toluene, methyl ethyl ketone and ethyl acetate or 2- nitropropane. The amine wetting agent may be tallow 1, 3-propylene diamine dioleate and diglycol laurate may also be present. The foundation may be of paper or polyethylene or other flexible film.
