Abstract
1,233,392. Consuming noxious vapours. R. V. LINDE. 6 March, 1969 [18 March, 1968], No. 12873/68. Heading F4B. Waste gas, to be deodorized, from line 1, after preheating in chamber 2, is mixed in chamber 6 with carbon monoxide and hydrogen derived from a sub-stoichiometric combustion of fuel in combustion chamber 5, the mixture then passing through a catalyst bed 7 to be combusted completely. The hot gases preheat the line 1 on their way to stack 8. The fuel and/or air supply to burner 4 is regulated in dependance on the catalyst or final gas temperatures measured by probes 9. Burner 4 is also used to warm up the catalyst on start up.
