Abstract
1,232,137. Openable mould; extractor. M. PAINAULT and P. FOUCAULT. 18 July 1969 [18 July, 1968], No. 36403/69. Heading B5A. Moulding apparatus comprises at least one mould, mounted on a chassis and having pivotable walls so that the moulded article may be removed from the open mould by a gripper to transfer it to a conveyer moving stepwise. The mould comprises a front wall AV, rear wall AR, top wall CS bottom wall CI and side walls L, L1. The front wall AV has side portions 22, 23 at its upper end, which are mounted on shaft 24, the front wall AV being opened when free by rotation of shaft 24 due to counterweight 34. The rear wall AR is pivoted at its upper end on shaft 38 (Fig. 5, not shown) and when free, swings under its own weight away from the mould until shoulder (40) abuts strut 15 of the framework. The front and rear walls are locked together in the moulding position by devices A, Al comprising rod 95 engaging pins 100, 101 on the walls by rotation of axle 97 by rod 96. The side walls L, L1 are pivoted on vertical shafts 42, 43, Fig. 3, and opened by handle 59 operating through link 58, shaft 57, meshing wheels 54, 55, links 50-53 and connections 44, 45. The top wall CS (Fig. 7, not shown) is pivoted on shaft 38 and operated through pushrods 70. The bottom wall CI has a connector (73, Fig. 6, not shown) having an upright edge (78) and is pivoted on shaft 74. It is opened, after release of locking means (79) by depression of sliding rod (75), the end (77) of which engages edge (78). As shown in Fig. 1, an extracting device E comprises a carriage 110 movable on rails 111; a base 112 moves transversely of rails 111 on rails 113. The base 112 carries a vertically reciprocable angle bracket 116 on which are mounted pivoted grippers 119, 120 operated by jack 123. After the front, rear and side walls of the mould are opened, the moulded element is engaged by grippers 119, 120 and the top and bottom walls are then opened. After retraction of base 112, the extractor E is moved to deposit the element on conveyer C, which moves in stepwise fashion.
