Abstract

1,229,872. Wrapping up. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE-GES. 26 Aug., 1968 [25 Aug., 1967], No. 40667/68. Heading B8C. A group of objects are wrapped together to form a block ended parcel by folding a piece of wrapping material in the shape of a "U" about the front end and top and bottom surfaces of the objects, forming and gluing together upper and lower lengthwise flaps 5, 4 on the two sides of the group of objects, applying a coating of adhesive 12 to at least one of the completed upper and lower flaps side flaps on at least one side of the parcel, folding rear flaps 7 and 8 carrying this adhesive layer 12 inwards and folding lower and upper end flaps 9 and 10 to complete the package so that at least one of the upper and lower flaps 9 and 10 is stuck to at least one of the side flaps 7 and 8. The upper and lower end flaps are stuck together by a layer of adhesive 11 and one or both of these flaps 9 and 10 may be stuck to one or both side flaps 7 and 8 by varying the size of the adhesive patch. The parcel is preferably made in apparatus comprising side folders with cutouts so that the adhesive patch 12 can be sprayed on to the wrapper and a folder for the rear flaps 7 and 8 with a cutout to avoid smearing the sprayed adhesive.
