Abstract

1,229,859. Shuttleless looms; weft pattern mechanisms. SULZER BROS. Ltd. 29 July, 1968 [15 Sept., 1967], No. 36068/68. Heading D1E. A jacquard loom comprises a weft selection mechanism and a locking device movable independantly of the jacquard and other mechanisms of the loom which operate in time with the picking cycle between an inoperative position and an operative position in which the weft selection mechanism is locked against change of weft. The weft selector mechanism can be similar in function to that of Specification 953,806 except that five recesses may be provided in the rear of drum 21 for engagement by rollers 53 and 125. The roller 53 holds the drum for normal picking and roller 124 is mounted on an independantly movable handle 123 to lock the weft selection drum during reverse operation for pick finding. Alternative independantly movable locking means comprise a screw which can be turned so that its end enters suitable recesses in the drum 21 or a grooved pin which is movable at right angles to the drum 21 and enters holes in the drum. The pin has two positions (operative and inoperative where it can be held by a spring catch.
