1,229,560. Treating vegetables. PRODUCTS FINDUS S.A. 22 Sept., 1969 [2 Oct., 1968], No. 46479/69. Heading A2E. Undesirable anions, for example nitrate and oxalate, are at least partially removed from vegetables, for example spinach, by treating the vegetables with water in a preliminary cycle, separating and recovering the vegetables and the water, and in subsequent cycles reducing the anion content of the recovered water, for example with an anion-exchange resin, and treating further untreated vegetables with the thus treated recovered water.
