Abstract
1,229,363. Electromagnetic relays. SINGER CO. 18 Nov., 1969 [9 Dec., 1968], No. 56338/69. Headings H1N and H1R An externally controlled attenuator has an electrically conductive housing split to form a base 11 and cover 12 which define a plurality of independent cavities connected at their ends by transverse ducts 15, 16 with respective continuous conductors 17, 18 therein and insulated from the housing; with a reed contact unit 23 and a series resistor 20 in each cavity interconnecting the conductors 17, 18, and separate surrounding coils for each contact unit. The housing provides electrical shielding and each coil bobbin is provided with an internal shield (Fig. 3, not shown) which is electrically connected to the housing and stabilizes the distributed capacitance. The conductor extends through the housing at 32 and is connected by a microswitch (Fig. 2, not shown) to the centre conductor of a coaxial connector. A lead 39 extends out of the housing from the conductor 18 into a logged compartment (Fig. 2), containing a thermally responsive element.
