Abstract

1,229,106. Ignition systems. DUCELLIER ET CIE. June 13, 1969 [June 18, 1968], No. 30121/ 69. Heading F1B . [Also in Division H1] In a contact breaker for an ignition system of a six-cylinder engine, three contact pairs 2, 3, 4 Fig. 3 are arranged for consecutive opening by three lobes of a cam and are spaced unequally around the cam whereby an unequal distribution of spark intervals is obtained. The contact pairs (2, 3) T, T1 Fig. 5 are arranged in parallel whereby a spark occurs only when the contact pair (3) T1 is opened with the contact pair (2), T already open. Following closure of both contact pairs (2, 3) T, T1, the series connected contact pair (4) T2 is opened to produce a second spark after a short interval α. Six sparks are therefore produced per revolution with alternate short and long intervals α, # between each spark.
