Abstract

1,227,081. Two-part couplings. PAINTON & CO. Ltd. 8 Dec., 1969 [3 June, 1969], No. 27985/69. Heading H2E. Contact clips 1 mounted in an insulating body 13 for connection to a printed circuit board, are made from nickel silver and have heads 3 which are thinner than stems 2 and oppositely directed thin tags 6 which retain the contact clips in the body 13 as do semi-spherical protruberances 7. A part-spherical recess is formed in the bent end portion 8 of each clip 1 forming protruberance 10 and a gold pip 11 is welded into the recess to make electrical connection with an inserted printed circuit board which is wiped clean by the bent end 8 on insertion of the board. In the body 13 opposed contacts may normally be spaced apart or may contact each other. The pip 11 may alternatively be formed from platinum or silver.
