Abstract

1,224,710. Diamine salts of phosphate esters. MARATHON OIL CO. 26 Sept., 1969 [2 Dec., 1968], No. 47479/69. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C5] A diamine of the formula wherein x and y are positive integers having a sum of from 6 to 30, and n is 2 to 4 is neutralized to a pH of 5 to 9 with a phosphate ester obtained by reacting equimolar amounts of polyphosphoric acid and a condensation product of a C 3 -C 6 alcohol and 1-10 moles of an alkylene oxide. In the examples, the reactants are N-secalkyltrimethylene diamines and the phosphate esters obtained by reacting polyphosphoric acid with the condensation product of (Example I) 1 mole isoamyl alcohol and 4 moles ethylene oxide and (Example II) 1 mole n-butyl alcohol and 1 mole ethylene oxide.
