Abstract

1,224,391. Resin cures for low unsaturation rubbers. ESSO RESEARCH & ENG. CO. 3 Oct., 1969 [22 Oct., 1968], No. 50141/68. Heading C3E. The resistance of resin-cured low unsaturation rubbers to high temperatures is improved by the incorporation therein before cure of an alkali metal silicate of formula xM 2 O. y SiO 2 where M is an alkali metal and the ratio of x : y varies between 2 : 1 and 1 : 4. The preferred compound is sodium metasilicate.
