Abstract

1,224,350. Polyurethane adhesives. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 15 Aug., 1968 [17 Aug., 1967], No. 39082/68. Heading C3R. An adhesive solution comprises a hydroxyl group containing polyurethane prepared from one or more diisooyanates and one or more hydroxyl polycarbonates. The latter may have a M.W. 600-2500 and be prepared by reacting hexane-1,6-diol with a diaryl carbonate. Reaction of the hydroxyl polycarbonate and the diisocyanate, e.g. naphthylene-1,5-diisocyanate, may take place at 100-160‹ C. Crosslinking agents may be added. Suitable solvents are methylene dichloride, trichloroethylene, ethyl acetate, acetone or methyl ethyl ketone.
