Abstract

1,223,227. Hydraulic brakes; brake indicators. SOC. ANON. D.B.A. 3 Feb., 1969 [8 Feb. 1968], No. 5720/69. Headings F2E and F2F. In a closure member 12 for an hydraulic master cylinder fluid reservoir 10, the closure member includes an elastomeric cup-shaped member 16 operatively secured to the inner central portion 14 of the closure member and the cup-shaped member is provided with an annular peripheral lip 18, the free end of which is adapted to sealingly engage the inner cylindrical sidewall 20 of the reservoir. An intermediate chamber 24 is thus defined between the member 16 and the closure member 12 to prevent the entrance of contaminants. Non- aligned orifices 26 and 28 are provided in the member 16 and the member 12 respectively for connection to atmosphere. The reservoir 10 and the closure member 12 may be made of translucid plastics material.
