Abstract

1,222,416. Motor driving arrangements. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. 5 July, 1968 [7 July, 1967], No. 32334/68. Heading H2A. A stepping motor arrangement comprises a first stepping motor M1 having a stator 7 which is rotatably mounted and a rotor adapted to drive an output member, and at least one further stepping motor M2 having a rotor adapted to angularly move the stator of the first motor. The rotor of M1 drives a rack 13 through a pinion 12, initial coarse positioning of the rack being effected by the motor M1 acting alone, and final fine positioning being effected by the rotor of M2 driving the stator of M1 through gearing 5, 6. The motors may have the same stepping angle, in which case gear 5 has fewer teeth than gear 6, or alternatively, if the gear ratio is 1: 1, M2 has a smaller stepping angle than M1.
