Abstract
1,222,274. Advancing mine roof support control circuits. BERGWERKSVERBAND G.m.b.H. 26 March, 1968 [31 May, 1967], No. 14445/68. Heading E1P In an advancing mine roof support assembly comprising two frames adapted to be advanced in sequence the control circuit therefor provides for intervals between output pulses in the ducts A and B respectively associated with said frames to allow one frame to be repressurised after advancement prior to the depressurising of the other. A trigger impulse in a duct 2 moves a valve 4 to the position 4b so that compressed air from a source 3, 3a can enter a valve 5. The impulse is also fed via a valve 6 to move the valve 5 to the position 5a whereby air is fed through the valve 5 to a duct 7 leading to a two-way valve 8 in communication with ducts A, B. Valve 5 is also connected to first and second time delay mechanisms 9, 13 as shown whereby it can be returned to the position 5b and then the position 5a in timed sequence. In the position 5b the duct B is vented to atmosphere and compressed air is fed from the duct 3a to a duct 10 having a two-way valve 11. When the valve 5 again moves into the position 5a air from the duct 10 moves valve 8 into position 8b whereby pressure is fed to duct A to depressurise and advance its associated frame. At the same time pressure in a duct 15 moves the valve 11 to the position 11b. Pressure existing in duct 7 returns the valve 5 to its starting position 5b and air passes through duct 10 to move the valve 11 into the position 11b and pressurise ducts 16, 16a which in turn move the valve 18 and 4, to the positions 8a and 4b respectively. Valve 11 is returned to its position 11a by air. pressure in a duct 17a connected to the duct B an air pulse exists for a time in a duct 16 due to a choke 19 therein so that the next control circuit can be triggered. In a modification, wherein a pulse is only supplied by a duct A, B when the permitted advance is sufficient, the compressed air drives a motor actuating the valve 4 by a cam mechanism and an on-off valve is actuated by a part mounted on a conveyor and adapted to engage a feeler provided on the said valve for circuit details of which, together with coalface feeler probe Fig. 2 (not shown) should be referred to.
