Abstract
1,221,300. Remote control of vehicle door locks. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 21 June, 1968 [7 July, 1967], No. 31450/67. Heading E2A. All the doors of a vehicle, having at least four doors, are adapted to be locked or unlocked simultaneously by operation of the driver's key in either front door lock, through the operation of a set of locking solenoids 11-14 and a set of unlocking solenoids 21-24, respectively, the circuits to these solenoids including, in addition to key-operated switches 28,. 29 for the respective front doors, a set of solenoid-operated switches 15-18, all of these switches being of two-way type and the arrangement being such that when switch 28 (as shown) or 29 is moved to the "lock" position the consequent energisation of the looking solenoids 11-14 causes switches 15-18 to change over, after a delay caused by a mechanical interlock (not shown), from the position shown to that in which the solenoids 11-14 are de-energised and unlocking solenoids 21-24 are placed in circuit. The latter circuit, however, is not completed by the other of the switches 28, 29 (29, as shown) since this switch is changed over mechanically during operation of the respective lock before switches 15-18 change over, owing to the mechanical interlock referred to above. The operation of the mechanism when switch 28 or 29 is moved to "unlock" position is therefore analogous to the above described operation.
