Abstract
1,221,202. Objective lens. EASTMAN KODAK CO. May 17, 1968 [May 22, 1967; May 29, 1967], No. 23527/68. Heading G2J. An objective lens consists of four air-spaced optically aligned components I, II, III, IV the front and rear components being simple negative meniscus elements L 1 , L 7 concave toward the centrally located diaphragm, the two inner components II, III being compound positive components encompassing the diaphragm space, the front compound positive components II consisting of a front meniscus element L 2 cemented to a rear biconvex element L 3 , the rear compound positive component III consisting of a front biconcave element L 4 and rear meniscus element L 6 both cemented to a middle biconvex element L 5 . Optical data are given for two examples in both of which the index of refraction of the element L 5 is higher than the indices of refraction of elements L 4 , L 6
