Abstract
1,219,853. Dithionooxamides. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 26 April, 1968 [28 April, 1967], No. 19825/68. Heading C2C. Dithionooxamides are prepared by reacting a haloethane, haloethene or haloethyne with sulphur and with NH 3 or a primary or secondary amine in substantially the stoichiometric amount (i.e. the amount of S or amine theoretically required to convert all the halo compound to the corresponding dithio-oxamide) or in excess. Preferably 2-5 gram atoms of sulphur and 2-6 moles of NH 3 or primary or secondary amine per mole of halogen compound are used. An equivalent amount of another acid-binding agent, instead of the amount of NH 3 binding the acid, may be present. In the examples cyclohexylamine is reacted with S and (i) tiichloroethylene, (ii) 1,2-dichloroethane, (iii) vinyl chloride, (iv) tetrachloroethylene, and (v) 1,1-dichloroethane to yield N,N<SP>1</SP>-dicyclohexyldithiono-oxamide and #-methoxyethylamine, benzylamine and propylamine are converted into N,N<SP>1</SP>-di-#-methoxyethyl-; N,N<SP>1</SP>-dibenzyl- and N,N<SP>1</SP>-dipropyl-dithiono-oxamide respectively.
