Abstract

1,219,553. Capacitors. ERIE TECHNOLOGIOAI, PRODUCTS Inc. 17 Jan., 1969 [17 Jan., 1968], No. 2833/69. Heading H1M. Axial leads 8, 9, for soldering to the axially outwardly facing terminals at each end of an electrical component such as a capacitor, are initially connected together via a loop portion 5 to form an integral member gripping the component and ensuring proper alignment during soldering, the loop being subsequently severed at 10. As shown the integral member is a wire. Alternatively (Figs. 4, 5 and 6, not shown) the loop portion may be of sheet metal with wire lead portions soldered thereto. The sheet metal may have tabs gripping the sides of the component body.
