The arms 9 of the roller move in guides 7, being guided therein by pins 8 passing through slots in the arms, and are fixed at any point by lock-nuts 12. In a modified pattern, the guides are dispensed with and the movement of the roller-arms is controlled by a link-bar pivoted on the spindle of the roller and to the fore part of the appliance.
