Abstract

121,928. Aeschbach, F. Aug. 10, 1918. Mashing fruit and vegetables.-Apparatus of the kind having a conical sieve and a friction body driven by a spindle in the axis of the cone, is provided with three blades 5, preferably made of wood, arranged at such a distance above the bottom of the sieve 6 as to leave a space which enables the friction body when worn to descend further into the sieve. This space is adapted to receive waste, such as kernels, and fruit shells or stalks. The spindle 4 of the blades may be driven by hand or by a crank 2 from a driven disk 1. The sieve has an upper supporting ring 8 which has three lugs through which pass thumb-screws 9 to connect it to a ring 10 at the bottom of a funnel 11 so that the latter may be removed. The masher may be used for fruits, vegetables, and substances required for the preparation of sauces.
