Abstract

1,219,241. Calcium hypochlorite. NIPPON SODA CO. Ltd. 20 May, 1969, No. 25639/69. Heading C1A. Hypochlorite containing 70-80% available chlorine is produced by mixing a reaction mixture containing hemi-basic calcium hypochlorite gained by chlorination of milk of lime and a reaction mixture containing neutral calcium hypochlorite gained by chlorination of milk of lime, and separating the desired solid material from the resulting mixture by centrifuging. The separated solid material may be washed with saturated or nearly saturated calcium hypochlorite solution. In an example the separated solid material is washed with a solution containing both Ca(OCl) 2 and CaCl 2 .
