Abstract

121,836. Foulkes, Ltd., A. D., and Foulkes, J. N. Jan. 18, 1918. Floats.-An earthenware, glass, or like float 1 for a flushing-cistern is secured to the float arm 7 by means of molten metal or other hard-setting material 9 which is poured into a socket 2 formed on the float. The socket is made with keying grooves 4, 6, Figs. 2 and 4, and the end of the arm 7 is screwed, as shown at 8. Alternatively, the molten metal &c. secures within the socket 2 a conical fitting 10, Fig. 6, which has a threaded socket, or carries a projecting screwed pin, to receive the float arm 7. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the socket 2 on the float is conical.
