Abstract

1,218,140. Mounting a vehicle headlamp. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 13 Aug., 1969 [17 Aug., 1968], No. 40507/69. Heading F4R. A wide-beam twin headlamp unit 3 may be vertically and horizontally adjusted by means of three U-shaped metal brackets 5 each having rotatable adjusting screws 7. The screws may have knurled portions to the rear of the headlamp or may be arranged to be adjusted by a screwdriver either from the rear or front of the headlamp. Two of the brackets are located at the bottom of the headlamp and their bearing members 9 are located on a lip 4 of the vehicle bodywork. A spherical seating is provided for bearing member 11 by spring clamp 12. The headlamp 3 is located by placing the lower bearing members 9 in position, swinging the headlamp upward and locating the clamp 12 in position.
