Abstract
1,217,664. Stabilized liquid anhydride compositions. ALLIED CHEMICAL CORP. 30 Jan., 1969 [8 Feb., 1968 (2)], No. 5139/69. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C3] A homogeneous stabilized composition comprises essentially a normally liquid mixture of at least two polycarboxylic acid cyclic anhydrides and as stabilizer a polyether polyol having at least 13 carbons or an organic isocyanate or carbodiimide. The anhydride mixture may be distilled in the presence of the organic isocyanate or carbodiimide and optionally restabilized with the polyether polyol. Anhydrides include, for example, those derived from saturated and unsaturated aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic and heterocyclic polycarboxylic acids having one or more pairs of vicinal carboxy groups, with or without one or more isolated carboxy groups.
