Abstract

1,216,112. Photopolymerization. GAF CORP. 29 March, 1968 [3 April, 1967; 9 Aug., 1967], No. 15357/68. Heading C3P. A photopolymerizable composition comprises a monomer containing the grouping CH 2 = C < attached directly to an electronegative group, and a catalyst comprising (a) a diazonium compound which functions as an electron-acceptor and (b) a photosensitive co-catalyst comprising a diazonium compound or a photoreducible substituted anthraquinone, which function as electron-donors. The composition may be used in the production of cathode ray tube viewing panels. The exemplified compositions comprise polyvinyl pyrrolidone, ethyl alcohol, hydrochloric acid, citric acid, water, zinc chloride, N,N<SP>1</SP>-methylene bisacrylamide, acrylic acid, 2,6-anthraquinone disulphonic acid, Na salt, p-toluene diazonium chlorosineate, 2-anthraquinone sulphonic acid, Na salt, 1,5-anthraquinone disulphonic acid, Na salt, 1,8-anthraquinone disulphonic acid, Na salt, 2,7-anthraquinone disulphonic acid, Na salt, benzene diazonium fluoroborate, 2,4,6- trimethylbenzene diazonium hydrogen sulphate, 4,4<SP>1</SP>-biphenyl-bis-(diazonium fluoborate), diazotized p-aminodimethylaniline, diazotized 4 - diethylamine - 1 - amino - naphthalene, p-[2-(hydroxylethyl) amino] benzene diazonium chlorosineate, diazotized N-(4-aminophenyl) morpholine, p-toluene diazonium fluosilicate, diazotized 1 - amino - 2 - di-ethylamino - benzene, p-morpholino benzene-diazonium fluoborate, o-chloro-benzene-diazonium chlorosineate, 2,5-diethoxy or 2,5-dibutoxy- 4-morpholinobenzene diazonium chlorosineate.
