Abstract

1,216,009. Unloading vehicles. A. HEINS. 8 May, 1968 [3 June, 1967; 6 Oct., 1967; 11 Dec., 1967], No. 21673/68. Heading B8E. A container for transporting products such as grain, fodder, flour, pellets or the like has a bottom in the form of a V-shaped, downwardly drawn cone 1a provided with reticulate floor members 5a, 5b through which the product passes to discharge pipes 6a, 6b under the action of compressed air from pipes 4a, 4b. The discharge pipes are connected to a common member 8 having a flap 7 by which one or other of the discharge pipes can be closed. To improve the discharge through the longer pipe 6a an additional air supply pipe 9 is provided. The container may have a partition 10 and is one of a pair secured on a frame 2 which can be mounted on a vehicle. In Fig. 6, the floor member 5 comprises a filter 13 located between a perforated plate 12 and a plate 14 having stamped-out slots. In Fig. 7 (not shown), an apertured bottom member (23) of stepped construction has a control flap (26). Further stepped constructions are illustrated in Figs. 8-11 (not shown) together with means for providing air-flow. According to the construction shown in Figs. 12, 14, a bottom member 33 and a hood-like member 37 have perforations 34 provided with deflectors 35, some of which are at an angle of 10 degrees to the longitudinal axis of the member (33), Fig. 13 (not shown). In Fig. 12, air is fed via openings 36a, 36b and the product together with surplus air is discharged through openings 38a, 38b. In Fig. 15 an air-product outlet A and two air outlets B, C are controlled by pivoted flaps 50, 55, 56, the flaps 55, 56 operating together such that when outlet A is closed, outlet B is also closed. Opening of flap 56 with flap 55 provides additional air for accelerating the discharge operation and this may be further accelerated by opening air outlet C by the flap 50.
