Sewing -machines; governing needle thread. - Take-up mechanism for sewing-machines of the kind in which a thread-guiding eye receives rotary movement while retaining a substantially horizontal position, is characterized in that the main shaft b is connected to the thread-guiding eye k through the intermediary of the crank-disk c, a wrist-pin c', an eccentric h secured thereon, and two double arms i, j, one of which ! i is loose on the eccentric h while the other j is connected to it by a sliding pivot block i<1> and jointed arms i<3>, j<1> to the pivot of the latter of which is connected the threadguide. Movement is imparted to the arm i by a plate m secured to the wrist-pin c<1> and connected to the arm i by a link p. The crank-disk c on the main shaft by which the needle-bar e is actuated is arranged in front of the needle-bar.
