[Class 112] In order to bring the beak of a rotary loop taker into successive correct positions to co-operate with a laterally vibrating needle, the vertical shaft of the loop-taker is mounted in a bearing carried eccentrically by an element making one rotation for two descents of the needle. The loop-taker shaft 65 is mounted in a sleeve 59 having a parallel-sided flange 58 which is adjustably secured in a diametral guide way in the top surface of a rotary member 43. The flange is adjusted in the guide-way to suit the variable lateral vibration of the needle. The shaft 65 is rotated from a shaft 32 through a wobbler shaft 72. The member 43 is rotated by gears 55, 49 and corresponding gears on a lay shaft at twice the speed of the shaft 65 which makes two revolutions for each stitch. A casing 83 is mounted on an upper portion of the sleeve 59 and is kept from rotation by a pin 91 the head of which engages a slot 89. The casing carries the usual stop 81 for preventing rotation of the spool case and a thread-gap opening finger 94 is carried by an arm pivoted on the casing at 96 and oscillated relatively thereto by a strap 97 of an eccentric on the loop-taker shaft 65. The feed bar 106 is supported by a pitman 112 from a feed-lift eccentric 111 and an arm 107 on a feed-advance shaft 108 actuated from a variable eccentric on the machine top shaft.
