[Also in Division F2] A centrifugal pump for use with corrosive liquids consists of a flat two-bladed rotor 22 secured in an open-ended slot at the end of the drive shaft 23 by a tantalum nut 66, the shaft and slot having tantalum cladding 45, 44, Fig.2 (not shown). In addition, the interior of the pump casing is protected by tantalum sheet linings 24, 25, 28, 34.
