Abstract

[Also in Division H3-H5] In apparatus in which workpieces 2 carried between the arms of spiders 1 are advanced consecutively into various treatment positions by means of a slotted disc 3, carried on the same shaft as the spiders, which is circumferentially drivingly engaged by a roller 18 which describes the path 19 in response to clockwise rotation of the crank of a crank and rocker linkage 14, 17; a cam 13, provided on the motor driven shaft 15 of the crank, actuates a pivoted cam follower 11 to bring a heating inductor 7 into coupled relationship with the arms of the spider when they are positioned at the heating station, unless a detector (not shown) finds a workpiece absent or misaligned between the spiders, whereupon a latch 22 is electromagnetically released to prevent arm 11 from lowering the inductor.
