Abstract

1491273 Transferring articles from and between conveyers RHEON AUTOMATIC MACHINERY CO Ltd 29 Sept 1975 [30 Sept 1974 10 Feb 1975] 39847/75 Heading B8A A whole row at a time of confectionery articles, bread &c. F are transferred from a conveyer 308 on to a conveyer 361 (or as shown, trays 364 thereon) by the conveyer 308 being first bodily lowered and then moved laterally through a closed-loop path back to its normal position. Up-and-down movement of the conveyer 308 results from the action of a cam 341 acting via a follower 345 and linkage 347 (Fig. 12) 349, 355, 357, on a rod 302 which carries a drive roller 328 of the conveyer at its lower end. The drive to roller 328 operates from a motor 334, bevel gearing 322, 320, and splines 318 on the rod 302. Lateral movement of the conveyer results from a crank 313 (the end only, of which can be seen in Fig. 9, as the crank is in a position at right angles to the plane of the figure) driven by a drive shaft 314. The crank 313 at its other end carries a first cam follower 331 which engages a cam slot 311 in a housing mounting the rod 302. The crank 313 is radially extensible against spring action as governed by a second cam follower 333 which bears on a fixed cam 326 of generally circular configuration. In a modification (Figs. 7 and 8, (not shown), the cam 341 is dispensed with, and mechanism similar to the crank 313 and cam follower 331, generates both lateral and up and down movement of the conveyer 308.
