Abstract

1,213,752. Moulding concrete pipes. STRESSED PIPE RESEARCH Ltd. 4 July, 1969, No. 33751/69. Heading B5A. [Also in Division F2] Reinforced self-stressed concrete pipes with bell and spigot ends (see Division F2) are made by centrifugal or stationary moulding. The stationary mould includes a bottom plate 26, a cylindrical inner shell 27 and a cylindrical outer shell 28. The spigot forming end cap 1 may be positioned at the bottom of the mould and the bell forming end cap 5 may be located at the top end of the mould and held in place by retainer rib 29. Concrete is poured down funnel 32 through perforations 30 and 31 in end cap 5, and the shell vibrated to insure packing of the concrete. After the concrete has set at least outer shell 28 is removed to allow expansion.
