Abstract

1,213,737. Earth continuity couplings. AMP Inc. 9 May, 1969 [7 June, 1968], No. 27213/68. Heading H2E. An earthing clip comprises a conductive strap 1, e.g. of copper or steel, with a conductive abrasive surface formation 8 to engage in use the surface of a conductive body, e.g. a metallic pipe, having its surface covered with a layer of paint or varnish, or an oxide. The formation 8 may consist of suitable sized granules of tungsten carbide or silicon carbide deposited with a binding material, or may be constituted by serrations on the contacting surface of the strap. An integral tubular portion 3 when indented retains the tapering end 6 of the strap passing therethrough, and a ferrule connector 4 provides for an earth connection to be made to the clip.
