Abstract

1,213,168. Burglar alarms. P. J. EYRE. 9 Sept., 1968 [7 Sept., 1967], No. 40859/67. Headings G4F and G4N. A burglar alarm comprises a vibration sensitive switch, having a spring-loaded locking mechanism. In Fig. 2 forked leaf 7 and leaf 8 are held in their respective positions by spring 9 such that contacts 10 and 11 are made. Vibrations (e.g. from the breaking of a window) cause 7 to vibrate and in moving upwards to lock open contacts 10, 11 by means of spring 9, and helped by permanent magnet 17. Bolt 16, inserted in sensitivity determining weight 10, indicates by its prominence which of several such switches installed at doors, windows &c. operated the common alarm.
