Abstract

1,213,083. Locking elements. SILENTNIGHT Ltd. 5 March, 1969, No. 11687/69. Heading F2H. [Also in Division A4] In a furniture leg comprising a locking element for connecting the leg to a frame member of furniture, the locking element comprises a body portion 1 having a sleeve 2 extending therefrom, the element being adapted to form the head of a bolt 3 which is provided in the leg so that when the bolt 3 is threaded into a tapped hole of the frame member the sleeve 2 acts as a wedge to lock the leg and frame member together. The sleeve 2 may have a wall of tapering thickness or it may occupy a portion of the spiral groove formed by the thread of the bolt 3 (Fig. 6, not shown). The body portion 1 which may be disc-shaped, of plastics material and provided with recesses on one or both sides may be moulded on to the bolt 3.
