Abstract
1,213,053. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. SULZER BROS. Ltd. May 6, 1968 [May 11, 1967], No.21352/68. Heading G3P. [Also in Division F4] A steam generator combustion chamber 1 is bounded by four vertical gas-tight tube walls 16, 17, 18 and 19 and by a tube bottom 20, said walls being surrounded by a girdle of four rigid beams 36, 37, 38 and 39 formed by flanged girders of H- section, pairs of the girders 36, 37, 38 and 39 being permanently joined to form a right-angle, the free ends of adjacent girders having mounted therebetween adjusting means arranged to be controlled so that the circumference of the girdle varies in dependence on the thermal expansion of the circumference of the tube walls. As shown, hydraulic servomotors 4 and 4<SP>1</SP> are mounted between the free ends of the flanged girders 36, 39 and 37, 38, each servomotor being controlled by a control valve 26 which communicates by pressure medium lines 14 and 15 with the two cylindrical chambers of the servomotor. For the servomotor 4 (the same applies for 4<SP>1</SP>), the complete cylindrical chamber is mounted on the end of the girder 39 while the piston rod is connected by a pivot to the end of the other flanged girder 36. In another embodiment, the servomotors do not directly join the free ends of adjacent girders to each other, instead each piston is pivoted to the long arm of a bell-crank lever (43) which is connected to a link 44, Fig.2 (not shown). Also in this embodiment, each servomotor is under the influence of the pressure which prevails in the combustion chamber 1, a diaphragm cell controlling the pressure in the cylinder of each servomotor.
