1,212,466. Hydroxyarylalkyl diethers. CHEMICKE ZAVODY JURAJA DIMITROVA, NARODI PODNIK. 27 March, 1969, No. 15973/69. Heading C2C. The invention comprises the hydroxyarylalkyl diether of the general formula wherein R is a group of the formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> is H, halogen, -CH 3 , -C 2 H 5 or -OCH 3 ; R<SP>11</SP> is H or -CH 3 , n is 1-10, m is 1-8, and k is 1 or 2. These compounds are prepared by reacting dihydroxyaryl derivatives of the formula wherein R is same as above, with a dihalogen derivative of the formula Hal-X-Hal in which X has the same significance as above and Hal means Cl or Br atom, in an organic solvent in the presence of an alkali metal carbonate.
