1,212,433. Viewing with ultra-violet radiation. MULLARD Ltd. 13 Nov., 1968, No. 53873/68. Heading H4F. The Specification describes apparatus for forming an image of, or investigating the size of, an incandescent object 8 within a furnace 7 by means of illuminating said object with ultra. violet from a source 1, the ultra violet being directed on to said object by focusing lenses 4 and 5, via semi-silvered mirrors 3 and window 6 and the ultra-violet light reflected by the object being reflected by mirror 3 on to an image converter or television camera 9, via an ultra-violet filter 10. The converter or camera may be replaced by a bank of photo-cells and the optics 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are preferably silica. An ultraviolet filter may be placed between mirror 3 and lens 4.
