Abstract

1,212,390. Injection moulding of frames. LE LAMINAGE A. FROID S.A. 1 March, 1968 [1 March, 1967], No. 10161/68. Heading B5A. A framework or chassis is moulded by placing a core 2 of thermally insulating material encased in fibrous mats 3, 4 into a mould 1, 9, inserting into the mould at least part of another element 8 of the framework (e.g. a panel or a glass pane), injecting the thermosetting synthetic plastics moulding material into the mould and allowing or causing it to harden and set. Preferred moulding materials are polyesters. The polyester is injected into the mould at 60‹ C. and is hardened and set by increasing the temperature to 120‹ C. The fibrous matting used can be glass fibre.
