Abstract

1,212,214. Hydraulic reciprocating motors. SOC. DES AUTOMOBILES SIMCA. Nov.23, 1967 [Nov.25, 1966], No.53295/67. Heading F1A. A hydraulic motor comprises a double-acting piston 2, Fig. 1, controlled by an electromagneticallyactuated distributer 9 biased into a neutral position 9b by springs 14, 15. From the rest position shown of the motor, depression of a manual starting switch (Ma), Fig.2 (not shown), energizes electromagnet Aresultingin rightward movement of the distributer and consequent connection of the cylinder spaces 5 and 6 respectively to a pressurized fluid supply line 10 and a return line 11. Moreover, the moving distributer, via a lever 23, opens switch A 2 and closes switch A 1 which thereafter maintains the electromagnet A energized so that the manual starting switch (Ma) can be released. The eventual rightward movement of the piston 2 causes a cam 4 to close switch FCO, open switch FC 1 and then close switch FC 2 . Opening of switch FC 1 deenergizes electromagnet A and the springs 14, 15 return the distributer to its neutral position shown whereat the switch A 2 is closed, so that the electromagnet B is energized through closed switches FC 2 and A 2 . The distributer is then moved leftwards and reverses the supply and return connections to the cylinder and, via a lever 22, opens switch B 2 and closes switch B 1 . The closed switch B 1 together with closed switches FC o and A 2 maintain the electromagnet B energized since the switch FC 2 is opened shortly after commencement of the leftward movement of the piston 2. This movement continues until switch FCO is again opened to de-energize electromagnet B and allow the distributer to return to the neutral position. Thus the machine has completed one cycle after which its operation ceases unless a re-cycling switch (Ca) has been closed during the first cycle.
