[Also in Divisions D1-D2] Compositions for impregnating fibrous materials for electrical insulation comprise 95 to 99 weight per cent of polybutylene derived from a mixture of isobutene and n-butenes and having a molecular weight of 550 to 1400, the remainder being a microcrystalline wax of melting point above 85‹ C. and selected from Fischer-Tropsch waxes of molecular weight about 600 and polyethylene waxes of molecular weight 3000 to 10,000. They may be prepared by adding the wax to the polybutylene at 100‹ to 140‹ C.
