Screwing die-heads for hand or machine use, and adjustable for screwing work of widely different diameters but of the same pitch, comprise dies c with cylindricallyshaped ends c' forming pivots in recesses in the die-holder a. The dies c have pins c<2> engaging with cam slots j in the rotatable cover-plate e. In a modification, the cam slots are formed as recesses in a support for the die-holder, which is then rotatable relatively to its support. The cover-plate e, or the support for the die-holder a, as the case may be, is preferably coupled to the dieholder by an adjusting screw such as n held in a pivoted nut m and having a hooked end n' engaging a pin k. A pivoted latch for locking and disengaging the hook n<2> and pin k may be worked automatically by an adjustable stop rod, or by hand through a lever q.
