Abstract

1,211,050. Gardening tools. C. T. T. FROST. 18 June, 1969 [3 July, 1968], No. 31664/68. Heading A1B. [Also in Divisions B4 and E2] A horticultural implement comprises a blade 4 having a line of perpendicular teeth 7 near its rear edge and a cutting edge 5, the blade being mounted on a handle 1 which is fitted into a socket 2 welded to a U-shaped member 3 itself welded to the blade 4. The teeth 7 may have curved and sharpened forward edges. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the socket 2 is a clamp facilitating adjustment or replacement of the blade. Both the teeth (47), Fig. 3 (not shown), and a triangular handle securing member (43) may be stamped out of the blade itself which may have an upwardly inclined rear part (31), Fig. 4 (not shown).
