A process for degasifying a polyurethane gel composition comprising one or more gelling agents and one or more solvents comprises continually forcing the composition containing gas bubbles under a pressure of from 1-5 atm. gauge through a nozzle plate having a plurality of nozzle apertures into a column which is under vacuum, collecting the degasified product at the bottom of the column; drawing it off by means of a pump and discharging under a pressure of from 5-15 atm. gauge.
